Wednesday 3rd July – Windsurf ** The Manor at Felixstowe – mainly cloudy with some light rain.

Fin – 24.22 knot max , 21.63 knot ave, 7.56 knot hour, 16.11 knot mile, 18.59 km., 13.06 knot alpha.

F2 282 Ride with Tushingham Storm 6.5m and 36 fin.

Hoped to go windsurf foiling for the first time this month but had to wait to the rain to pass and the wind to build, so I headed down to Felixstowe dock view point with our bright umbrella to take some weather pics to send to the TV but I am ot holding my breath! It was miserable for most of the morning, chilly too so I had plenty of time to do my exercises. The wind started to build around 11.30 so I headed down to Squiz Lane at 12.30 and with a sw gusting well over 20 knots I was tempted to set up my rarely used fin gear which probably was not my best idea as low water was gone 4 so it was wind with tide meaning you usually have to beat both ways just to staty in the same place! Still I headed out into a particularly lumpy sea with just enough wind to plan and went too broad o my first run, ending up several groynes downwind by the ferris wheel:( I then had a few runs out slowly making my way back, I forgot how exhausting fin sailing can be and will probably stick to foiling I the future especially as the sea was particularly lumpy, weedy too! The wind then turned a fraction off and picked up so I got back to my launch beach easily, just I time as the wind went even more off and dropped but at last I got a little sun as I packed up, not great, fingers crossed tomorrow will be better, fingers crossed!
